TEN men Saltcoats were hit for six by clinical Darvel at Recreation Park.
The game began with Vics looking the sharper of the two sides, and they were denied by a fine save from David Markey.
Darvel were awarded a penalty when Greg Vernon was brought down inside the box. Visiting player Ryan McKie was given a straight red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity. However the resultant penalty-kick glanced wide.
The visitors scored again when a corner-kick which was met perfectly by towering centre half Ally Patrick, whose impressive header flew into the top corner of the net.
Five minutes later, Jordan Ryan broke through the centre of the Saltcoats defence and with the goal at his mercy, drew the keeper before slipping the ball to the onrushing Vernon who shot home.
Kenny Parris then collected a loose ball out of the Saltcoats defence and strike it perfectly from 22 yards, low into the corner of the net.
Mark Gilmour put Darvel further ahead and Ryan added a fourth. Sean Quinn netted from the spot for the Seasiders in 75 minutes.
Parris curled a shot into the top from 30 yards and late on Ryan forced the ball over the line from six yards.
