EXPERIENCED defender Craig Reid is targeting League One title glory with Dunfermline Athletic after signing up at East End Park on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old from Ardrossan was released by Ladbrokes Premiership side Motherwell on Monday night, following two years at Fir Park and has now joined the Fife club until the end of the season.

He will join forces again with Pars manager Allan Johnston, who was his team-mate and then briefly his manager at Queen of the South.

Reid had been on loan to St Mirren from 'Well this season, playing six games after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury which had kept him out of action for eight months

He is excited by the new challenge and said: "When Allan contacted me it was too good an opportunity to turn down. I was looking for a new challenge. Dunfermline are a sleeping giant with a massive fan base and hopefully I can help them win the league this season."

The Ardrossan footballer was with Celtic at youth and reserve level and has also played with Stirling Albion and Greenock Morton.
