MANCHESTER STORM 3

BRAEHEAD CLAN 6

A DOUBLE from Matt Keith and a goal from Marcus Goetz in the final period helped keep Braehead Clan on track for the Gardiner Conference title, but victory wasn't easy to come by.

Mathew Sisca opened the scoring for the hosts but Ben Davies struck to level the game within a minute of the restart.

Storm scored again through Vinny Scarsella.

Clan hit back early in the middle period through Thomas Nesbitt who then struck again to give Braehead the lead for the first time. Storm then hit back to square things again.

Penalties on Ricards Birzinsh and Paul Swindlehurst proved to be fatal for the hosts as Keith struck on the five-on-three powerplay to edge Clan ahead once again.

Gotz effectively killed Storm off with a fifth. Keith netted to move Clan closer to the title, with two games left to play in the regular season.
