ARDROSSAN Accies Mini and Micro players resumed their season after the Christmas break with a fine performance against Irvine RFC on Sunday.

The fixture was played undercover at the Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre, Largs.

The Micros (Primary One to Three) split into three teams to take on Irvine’s squad, winning each game emphatically with their pacey, energetic style.

The stars of the day were: P1- Logan Gallacher - with no less than four tries; P2 - Ross Ferguson; P3 - Harvey Miller.

Primary Four and Five formed two squads to take on their local rivals.

Accies Black tackled well, ran hard and displayed excellent sportsmanship, but eventually went down by nine tries to five. The star of the day was Finlay Crawford.

Accies Blue however, displayed a wonderful mix of skill, speed and sheer cunning to beat their opposition 13 tries to nil.

Their ability to tackle and turnover the ball from the opposition proved critical to the result. Some deft finishing from Tom Monaghan saw him net the star of the day award.

Primary Six and Seven merged into a large playing squad to engage in fast-paced battle with Irvine.

The tackling was solid, the rucking effective and the attacking play was incisive enough to earn the a 13 to 4 try victory. An all action performance from Aiden Finnegan earned him the star of the day accolade.
