EXPERIENCED Kilwinning Rangers striker Ian Cashmore is hoping his side can spring another upset after they were handed a testing draw in the Scottish Junior Cup.

Buffs. who saw off former joint favourites Kelty Hearts in the last 16, face 2-1 trophy favourites Auchinleck Talbot in the quarter-finals at Beechwood Park on Saturday, March 18.

Cashmore knows 9-1 outsiders Buffs face a tough task but said: "We can go into the match with confidence after our victory in Fife and we will be going there to win the tie. But it will be tough as Talbot have been the team to beat in the cup for the last 10 to 12 years."

Meanwhile Kilbirnie Ladeside boss Mark Bradley is warning his team to improve following a shock 4-1 defeat away to Largs Thistle as they face Talbot in the league on Saturday.

He said: "It was a really disappointing result on Saturday. Ciaran McElroy was sent off after scoring and then we conceded a poor goal and a penalty. Our last four games are against teams chasing the title coming up and are not safe yet. We must win as many games as possible."

Saltcoats Victoria interim manager Tam McClelland hopes to turn his side's form around after recently taking the reins.

Vics, who recently added experienced trio Paul Weaver, Michael Hart and Colin Frye to their ranks, on Saturday lost 6-0 at home to Whitletts Victoria.

McClelland, a player for 10 years at Campbell Park, said: "We have four league games left and if we can finish second bottom that is an improvement on last season."

Ardrossan Winton Rovers aim to spring an upset when they face Premier Division leaders Kirkintilloch Rob Roy away in the West of Scotland Cup.

Boss Sandy MacLean said: "No-one expected them to do so well this season and it will be a difficult tie. But it's a break from the league and hopefully we can cause an upset."
