A NORTH Ayrshire Netball Club have been recognised officially for their work in developing the sport.

Some 32 Thistle Mark awards were handed out by Netball Scotland, with Kilwinning Netball Club receiving the Bronze Thistle Mark Award.

A spokeswoman for the national body said: "Netball Scotland are delighted to announce the continued success of our newly launched Club Accreditation Scheme; The Thistle Mark, continues to recognise and reward our hard working clubs. The panel responsible for processing 40 applications, as part of this cycle, were impressed by the level of time and effort being invested in making our clubs go from good to great. The Thistle Mark criteria is set to ensure that clubs have a clear progressive pathway and are recognised and rewarded for what they achieve."

Kilwinning Netball Club spokeswoman Martha Thomson said: "So pleased to announce that Kilwinning Netball Club have been awarded the Bronze Thistle Mark Award from Netball Scotland. Thank you to all the committee members who selflessly give up some of their free time to such a worthy cause. Special thanks Hannah Pugh for submitting the successful application."
