ARDEER THISTLE 0
ANNBANK UNITED 2
THISTLE ended the season with defeat against an understrength visiting side.
A dull first half ended goalless with neither side being able to come to terms with the bumpy pitch.
Ardeer played well early on and put the visiting defence under pressure, with a Lee Munro effort from outside the box crashing off the post. But that was the nearest Thistle got to hitting the target as this game had a real end-of-season feel to it.
Annbank dominated the second half and deservedly went ahead in 54 minutes when Lee Holland netted. Jai Holland added a second goal in 76 minutes to ensure that the points went back to Annbank.
Thistle missed a chance to level late on when a Derek Kennedy penalty was saved at full stretch by Marc Fisher.
Annbank were reduced to 10 men when Craig Fisher was ordered off but the South Ayrshire side held on for victory.
Thistle have improved this season, with back-to-back wins against former promotion favourites Whitletts Victoria underlining their potential.
Now manager Derek Gemmell will hope to build on some of their results as he starts making plans for next season.
They will no doubt be hoping to push up the league and if they re-produce some of last season's displays consistently, they could be in with a chance.

ARDROSSAN CASTLE ROVERS 2
ARDEER WEST RECREATION 4
THIS midweek Three Towns derby had a bit of everything and went in favour of the visitors, who battled and fought for every ball.
They came from behind with a vintage second half performance and walked away with all three points.
The referee had a big say when he showed red cards to two Castle players and a member of their management team although you could not dispute them,
It was a disappointing evening tor Castle, who wish their opponents all the best for the rest of the season.
Scorers for the home side were Paul Brookes and Maxwell Davidson.
The Castle man of the match, sponsored by Spicy Hut Ardrossan was Paul Brookes.
