KILBIRNIE Community FC recently held their inaugural Football Festival.

Players representing teams from across North Ayrshire and beyond headed to Valefield Park to take part in the event, which was voted a success by organisers.

Teams involved at 2007’s and 2009’s age group’s were: Kilbirnie Community Football Club (KCFC), KSC Abbey, Glasgow City, Irvine Meadow, Dreghorn Stars, Cunninghame Colts, Palacepark, Beith Juniors and Largs Colts.

The festival featured a round robin format with two groups at 2007’s and all teams in 2009’s playing each other.

Organisers would like to thank all those who came along and played in a competitive, fun and sporting manner.

The event was well attended and supported strongly by the local community.

Thanks go to Kilbirnie Ladeside FC for embracing the event and using their first class pitch to host it as well as providing refreshments and catering.

They are also grateful to Mark Graham and Ramages Bar for sponsoring event as this allowed the club to provide all participants with a medal for taking part.

KCFC hope to expand the event next year and a date for it will be announced soon.
