DEBUTANT Darren Sillers came off the bench to blast a quickfire double as Castle overcame Ayrshire rivals 'Shant in a nine-goal thriller.
A slow start to this West of Scotland Cup tie saw the visitors finally go ahead after missing several chances.
They were very fast off the blocks after the break and a solid quick start to the second half saw the boys score five quick goals, Sillers netting twice in quick succession.
Also on target were Joe Young, Jason Scobie and Jordan Bruce, with the other goal an own goal.
The hosts then got their tails up and gave it a go.
Castle man of the match, sponsored by Spicy Hut Ardrossan was Craig Breen.
