KILWINNING Netball Club entered a Development Squad into the Glasgow Netball Association League in season 2016/2017.

The squad had to start at the bottom of the league structure in Division 4 and after a year seeing the team develop well with some strong team performances they were promoted into Division 3 for the 2017/2018 season.

The team have played three matches in Division 3 in the 2017/2018 season starting with a solid win 42-24 against the Glasgow Flames 1st Team on September 6. This was followed by a win against Broomhill BSC Bobcats 2 on September 13, which saw a slightly depleted Kilwinning team holding on to the lead to win 27-23. The match played on September 28 was a display of a strong team performance throughout the court resulting in a convincing 56-21 win against St Mirren 2.

Kilwinning are presently sitting in third place in Division 3 on 15 points - five points behind both Claremont 1 and Black Diamonds who have both played and won four games. The next match against Claremont 1 scheduled on October 25 promises to be a closely contested match, which will undoubtedly impact on whether Kilwinning can compete for promotion to Division 2 at the end of the season.
