EDF Energy Challenge Cup Second Round
ONTHANK 1
DIRRANS ATHLETIC 3
PREMIER side Dirrans saw off their Division One opponents in a closely-contested cup tie.
The visitors fielded a strong line-up, with defender Graeme Muir making a milestone 200th appearance for the club.
They began well and took the lead in only two minutes, when Brian Strain blasted a free-kick into the top corner of the net.
A minute after the break Onthank pulled a goal back.
However the Kilwinning team restored their advantage in 57 minutes when Alan Frew brought the ball down inside the box and flicked it under the home goalie.
Then three minutes from time they sealed victory when Jamie Dunlop netted with a good one-on-one finish.
