TEN-man Buffs suffered their second major cup defeat inside a fortnight after they were sent crashing out of the showpiece knockout event by the East Coast hosts.

Two weeks after losing out to Irvine Meadow in the West of Scotland, the second-placed West Super League Premier Division side were well beaten by a home side whose league form in the East has been indifferent.

With just three minutes on the clock the visitors had an appeal for handball turned down. However 12 minutes later, Marc Kelly played a brilliant pass to Calum Scott who put the ball away with a brilliant finish.

Five minutes later the hosts missed a sitter when Scott Gibbs scooped the ball over the bar from just a couple of feet out. A corner resulted in more pressure with a good ball head in goalwards by Stuart Hunter but cleared away for another corner-kick.

The Abbey Park side came close in 25 minutes when, from a Ryan Nisbet corner-kick, a James Latta strike glanced just beyond the far post.

But the visitors were lucky to go in at half-time only 1-0 down.

In 50 minutes, a Campbell shot was cleared off the line by home defender Sam McCloskey with goalkeeper Adam Strain beaten. However four minutes later the hosts doubled their advantage with a well-worked strike as Scott played a brilliant ball into the path of Fraser Keast, who struck a great shot into the net

Visiting defender Tommy Maitland was booked for a bad tackle on Andy Shirra and in 70 minutes he was shown a second yellow for another challenge.

Three minutes later as Buffs battled to get back into the match, a Bryan Boylan shot glanced wide of target.

Then two minutes later Mick Wardrope sent a 20-yard shot over the bar.

Ten minutes from time Scott bagged his second as he picked up a fine pass from Keast and knocked the ball beyond Strain.

Right on full-time a Carlo Monti effort was turned round the post by the home goalie but it was too little, too late as Bo'ness easily saw the game out.
