A TALENTED teenage Stevenston pool player is celebrating after achieving the number one ranking for the 15s age group in Scotland.

Auchenharvie Academy Second Year pupil Geo Edgar earned the distinction after winning the Bryan Cumming Euro Challenge Cup as well as defending the Jayson Shaw Champions Cup. He was also runner-up in the Mick McGoldrick Scottish Masters.

He is also looking forward to flying the flag for Scotland in the Under-18 European Championships at Bridlington Spa in April.

Dad George Edgar said: "I am really delighted for Geo as he works really hard on his game. He practises for or five times a week and is really dedicated. It was great he won a couple of events this season and he deserves his success."

Geo is coached by Allan Duffy and also get support from Saltcoats pool ace Jourdan Templeton, who has also won a whole host of awards.

He is a member of the Nonsuch team in Saltcoats and plays regularly there.

Added George: "He is delighted to be representing Scotland in the European Championships and hopefully the team will do really well."
