A HOST of successes were celebrated by North Ayrshire Athletics Club with more than 20 athletes of all ages recently taking part in both indoor and outdoor National Scottish Athletics championship events.
The club would congratulate everyone who competed - many for the first time at the combined Championships, Masters Indoors and Masters Cross Country.
A special mention to the medal winners. Aidan Brindley from Beith kicked things off with a gold in the under-15 multi-events on the Saturday and Seamill's Kathryn Ballard matched his feat with a gold in her debut in the event on the Sunday. Not to be outdone by his fellow master athlete, Stephen Nisbet from Stevenston bagged a silver and a huge Personal Best in the 800m also on his debut.
Continuing the super Sunday Jilly Lefebvre of Largs secured bronze in the under-15 girls multi events in what was undoubtedly the toughest fought age group of the weekend.
Final shout of the weekend has to go to Scott Brindley from Beith, who not only won the under-17 male heptathlon but also smashed the Scottish and British record in the process.
