A TALENTED Beith youngster is continuing to impress in the world of karting and is riding high in the West of Scotland and north of England.
Jayson McCleary (11) is a karting racing driver for a team called Sam Pollitt Racing from down south in the Honda cadet class.
He's competing in the West of Scotland Kart Club Championship (10 rounds) and Cumbria kart club too (12 rounds).
The main focus is the Northern Karting Federation championship which consists of eight races at eight different circuits. There is one circuit in Wales, one in Scotland and six in England.
Currently he has completed two rounds at WSKC and sitting in a very close second place and is also close to the top at Cumbria.
Jayson, a P6 pupil at Gateside Primary School, won his first race at WSKC against more than 20 tough competitors a couple of weeks ago.
He recently competed in the first race of the NKF Championship in Wales and was victorious in an event which was at a much higher level.
His dad Terry said: "I was very proud of his achievement in Wales and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can achieve this year. Jayson will also be competing a some selected national races this year to increase his experience even further which is the highest level of karting in the UK."
Sponsors are always being sought to help Jayson fulfil his dream of taking his racing to the next level.
