FAST-rising Ardrossan teenager Billy Gilmour has been called up for Scotland Under-21s.
Scot Gemmill has named the 16-year-old midfielder in the squad for this year’s Toulon Tournament, with ex-Rangers wonderkid Billy Gilmour among the call-ups.
The young Scots are due to take part in the prestigious tournament again this summer following the Under-20s’ participation last year.
Billy has been called on the back of a string of fine displays for the Chelsea youth team.
He helped the Blues win their fifth successive FA Youth Cup and netted a wonder goal in the second leg on Monday as they defeated Arsenal 7-1 on aggregate.
Gemmill’s side are set to face Togo, hosts France and South Korea at the competition that starts later this month, and will aim to improve on last summer’s third-place finish.
