LUGAR BOSWELL THISTLE 1

DALRY THISTLE 6

SIX-guns Dalry shot down Lugar in a one-sided clash at Rosebank Park.

An early chance came from Jordan Stuart, who played a one-two with Ian Cashmore, but his shot went wide.

The opener came in three minutes when Cashmore set up Kieran McLaughlin, whose low cross was met at the far post by Ryan Cumming, who slotted it home.

In 17 minutes it was 2-0 when Stuart supplied McLaughlin and this time his cross was turned in by Cashmore.

Mark Archdeacon had a shot from the left corner of the box but it was too high.

If Dalry were cruising they got a rude awakening in 22 minutes. Jamie Conn found just enough space at the edge of the box to squeeze a shot home and level.

In 38 minutes Dalry were back in control again. A free-kick on the right was whipped in and Stuart stooped to head the ball into the net.

Dalry started the second half as they had the first. In 47 minutes a move down the left was crossed in and Cumming should have done better than put the ball over the bar from six yards.

Stuart played a one-two with Archdeacon, but his shot was saved by Ronnie Davis.

The fourth goal was only delayed until 53 minutes and was probably the best of the game. McLaughlin showed skill to control the ball and curl a shot into the corner of the net from 16 yards.

It took Lugar until the hour to threaten when a free-kick went wide.

Then in 62 minutes it was 5-1. Archdeacon collected the ball wide right and ran inside and into the box to score with a low shot.

Lugar took a quick free-kick and Blair Lochhead had to be alert to turn the ball round for a corner.

Dalry recovered from this fright and a low cross from Archdeacon was met by McLaughlin who shot over. McLaughlin then found substitute Dylan Stevenson, whose shot was saved by the feet of the goalie.

Lugar were reduced to 10 men in 83 minutes when Bob Crowley, who had been booked earlier, won a free-kick but reacted with a threatening attitude and was shown a second yellow.

Dalry took full advantage and on 86 minutes made it 6-1. A shot from Stevenson looked goal-bound but was chased by a defender and Archdeacon. The clearance from near the goal line came off Archdeacon and ended in the net as Dalry won comfortably.
