ARDROSSAN BC took full advantage of the new bonus point rule as they secured their second away victory of the campaign on Friday night.
Travelling to the bottom end of Stevenston, one last year’s most disappointing teams continued their resurgence with a 94 shots to 58 win against Ardeer to become the second team to win 3-0 in as many weeks.
Week one’s runaway leaders Kilwinning BC picked up another convincing win against Largs Halkshill by a scoreline of 89 to 68 shots to keep them ahead of Ardrossan on shot difference.
Holders West Kilbride recorded another win too but Saltcoats BC ran them very close and came out of the tie with a losing bonus point after a tight 73-69 win.
Fairlie BC picked up their first win of the campaign but couldn’t reach the magical 30 shots barrier to pick up a bonus point as they beat Skelmorlie 91-64 at home.
Kilbirnie recovered from the shock defeat in week one at the hands of Largs to win in the battle of the Garnock Valley against Dalry/Glengarnock but the 85-79 scoreline meant the visitors picked up bonus losing point.
In the other match on the night, Ardeer Rec bounced straight back from their drubbing at the hands of Kilwinning to beat Largs by 87 shots to 74.
It is already shaping up to be a brilliant season with some tasty week three games in the offing, the stand out of these has to be the battle of two of the unbeaten sides as Ardrossan host West Kilbride.
