HIGHLY-rated former senior hit man Marc McKenzie has been snapped up by Kilwinning Rangers after banging in a barrowload of goals for relegated Arthurlie.

The former Albon Rovers, Stenhousemuir and Clyde striker was attracting interest from a number of other clubs, but opted to come on board at Abbey Park.

Buffs boss Chris Strain is delighted to have the ex-East Stirlingshire and Cowdenbeath ace on board following what was a hugely impressive season for the player.

He said: "A number of clubs were interested in Marc but we were delighted he chose to sign for us. He scored 23 goals last season, which is pretty good for a club who have just been relegated. Marc will bring goals to the club."

Most of the other players in the squad have agreed terms for next season when Buffs will be hoping for an improvement.

They finished fourth in the league although led for much of the season only to falter in the last couple of months.

That was a huge improvement on the previous season, when they narrowly missed out on relegation, staying up through the play-offs.

Irvine Vics hope to announce signing news in the near future."
