WORRIED Kilwinning Rangers boss Chris Strain is urging his under-performing players to get their act together after tumbling to their second straight defeat.

But they boosted their squad by bringing in teenage Kilmarnock ace Ewan McLevy on loan.

Buffs went down 3-2 away to Kirkintilloch Rob Roy in a McBookie Premiership match at Guy's Meadow.

But Strain is not happy with what he saw and said: "The performance is below the level that we are capable of and it was a disappointing result. It seems to me that we are lacking in intensity and I'm concerned about our energy levels which is worrying at this stage of the season.

Meanwhile, McLevy has joined Kilwinning Rangers on loan until January and is the latest of many young Killie players taken on by Buffs to help give them game time.

Strain said: "We know all about Ewan, I have seem him in action and he is a promising young player."

The defender, who is part of Andy Millen's Reserves Squad, has signed for the Buffs on a deal for the first six months of the season.

Buffs on Saturday host Beith in a Premiership match will be a dress rehearsal for the Scottish Junior Cup second round tie between the teams at Abbey Park on September 29.

Strain said: "We have a good record at home to Beith in recent years. It's an important match for us and we must look to win."
