Macron Scottish Junior Cup Second Round

IRVINE VICTORIA 1

KIRKINTILLOCH ROY ROY 9

TEN-man Vics crashed out of the showpiece event after being hammered by the Premiership visitors.

But boss Brian McLuckie later said he would put the disappointment of defeat firmly behind him as they gear up to host Cumbernauld United on McBookie Championship business on Saturday.

Vics lost an early goal and then Ross Loughlin was red-carded.

The visitors then doubled their tally before Paul Singleton pulled a goal back for Vics.

Rabs then blasted SEVEN unanswered goals after the break to complete the rout.

McLuckie said: "I felt we played quite well in the first half and two of the boys, Calum Smith and James Maxwell said they wanted to play through the pain barrier despite having injuries and we appreciated that. But we have to forget about this game and focus on the league. Our priority is to make sure we stay up. We have some tough games coming up, starting with Cumbernauld on Saturday but will prepare for them."

Before that tonight (Tuesday) Vics are at Calderglen Country Park in East Kilbride to face East Kilbride in a friendly (ko 7.45pm).

IRVINE VICTORIA: McLaren; P Singleton, Farrell, Holden, Young, Loughlin, Morrow, McKenzie, Skeoch, McKinlay, Barr. Subs: Maxwell, Smith, McDonald.
