DIEHARD Killie fan Thomas Collins can't wait for his Beith side to take on fierce derby rivals Ayr United.

The striker/midfielder is also relishing the prospect of going up against former Queen's Park team-mate Lawrence Shankland, who is top scorer for the Honest Men.

Beith earned a money-spinning home William Hill Scottish Cup third round tie against the Somerset Park side after defeating old East Coast foes Linlithgow Rose 4-0 on Saturday.

And a full house is expected on Saturday, November 24 for one of the biggest games in the club's history.

Collins (22) was impressed with the weekend showing and said: "We controlled the match and deserved the win.

"But it's as tough as tie as we could possibly have got as Ayr were top of the Championship until they lost to Ross County on Saturday. They are flying and we should have a big crowd.

"As a Killie fan it will be great to play Ayr United, we beat them in the League Cup semi-finals a few years back.

"Lawrence and I had a good partnership at Queen's Park Under-17s and he is averaging more than a goal a game. No doubt I will send him a text before the match and we look forward to it. If we got some kind or result it would be good, a replay would be great. We want to do better than two seasons ago when Morton beat us 6-0."

Beith boss Johnny Millar was also impressed with the weekend display and said: "We totally dominated the game and it was all over at 3-0.

"Ayr are flying and it couldn't be any tougher as they were the highest seeded team in the draw. But there will be a full house and we will certainly give it a go."

But Millar is for now focused on the league campaign.

He added: "There are a few big matches coming up and we must start picking up some league points. We are at home to Petershill on Saturday and look to take three points."
