SALTCOATS VICTORIA 0

ANNBANK UNITED 0

SPOILS were shared at Campbell Park in what was a competitive game played in blustery conditions.

There were chances at both ends in windy conditions. Indeed both teams hit the woodwork.

Seven minutes in home goalie Chris Wright smothered a Dillan Dunn effort and then in 16 minutes the same player met a Lee McLymont

cross but headed over the bar.

Adam Lawrie flashed a shot wide of the left hand post as the Bankies pushed for an opener.

Up the other end, Alan Orr made a great last ditch challenge to prevent Saltcoats an effort on goal.

In 36 minutes, Danny Gray superbly tipped a well-struck free-kick over the bar.

A poor first half for both teams was finished with a flurry from Bankies as McClymont had a shot blocked and from the resulting corner Johnny Dunlop headed over the bar.

Early in the second half, Saltcoats broke quickly forward following an error from Orr but the squared pass was intercepted and cleared. McClymont made a smart run, spinning off his marker to get on the end of a through ball before driving into the box but slipped his shot just wide.

Saltcoats then blazed an effort over the bar.

Euan Smith almost caught the goalie out with a deep cross that the wind caught and pushed towards goal but just not quite enough. Ross

McManus made a good run before cutting inside and setting up Adam Lawrie but his shot from the edge went over the top before another Lawrie shot was easily held by the Saltcoats keeper as the Bankies just lacked that quality in the final third.

With 75 minutes gone, Stevie McLelland slammed a free-kick off the wall, he picked up the loose ball and skipped past his man who brought him down in the box, however the referee waved play on.

Lawrie had another low shot saved after being played in by McManus. Smith then slammed a shot on the angle off the post.

Saltcoats almost snatched it with seven minutes to go as their striker Eva Bembo hit a shot off the inside of the post, but the Bankies defenders managed to clear any further danger.

With five minutes left, Lawrie was played in again but his shot was easily held by the goalie.

Vics had three players booked: Sebastian Holubowicz, Losjay Frame and Evariste Bembo.

In the end there wasn't much between the teams and a draw was probably a fair result.
