NORTH Ayrshire Wild travelled to the Galleon Leisure Centre to face Kilmarnock Thunder in a Scottish National League match.

They led from the start and won 7-2.

Auchenharvie Leisure Centre hosted a high-scoring game between North Ayrshire Stars (U14's) and Kilmarnock Tornadoes.

This was to be a great game with both teams equally matched and desperate for the win but it started badly with Tornadoes scoring two goals within four minutes, but Stars didn't give up and fought hard before Flynn Massie found a way past the visiting netminder, scoring the first goal four minutes into the second period. Assistant captain Dylan Murray followed this up a minute later with a breakaway goal to level. Kilmarnock were not giving up and five minutes later scored their third goal.

The third period saw Tornadoes score again, giving them a two-goal lead, but this only made the Stars fight harder and Liam Houston started the comeback two minutes later with a goal. This was closely followed by a second goal from Dylan to once again level. With Captain Jack Neil having to leave the game through injury, the team closed ranks and provided the supporters to a very enjoyable, competitive game.

Final Score: Stars 4 - 4 Tornadoes. Man of the Match: Kerr Drummond.

North Ayrshire Predators (U16's) v Kilmarnock Blizzard

THIS was always destined to be a fantastic game of hockey between two evenly-matched teams.

Hayden Woods opened the Predators' scoring after just five minutes and this was soon followed by another two from Harvey Hughes and Anthony Curlett making it 3-0 to the Predators.

Blizzard fought back with three goals to level it before Hayden scored his second, only to be answered by a Blizzard goal. Then Aedan Orr put the Predators ahead with a goal eight seconds from the end of the second period.

The third period saw Kilmarnock score two quick goals and take the lead, but Predators showed great character and levelled with a second goal from Anthony. In a game played at a fantastic pace, the final moments were eventful with the Predators clinching a goal, a second from Aedan and just when they thought they had won, Blizzard scored with just over a minute left.

Final Score: Predators 7 - 7 Blizzard

Two girls from North Ayrshire Ice Hockey Club competed in their first game for the Scottish Girl's Development Team. Emma Lamberton and Emma Miller were at Hamilton Ice Rink against a development team of boys from Lanarkshire Lightning. Although they lost 9-6, the girls show some great team spirit and play after only three training sessions together. Well done from the club to both girls and a big congratulations to Emma Lamberton, who scored five goals and assisted on the sixth.
