A DREAM day out was enjoyed by young Ardrossan Accies players.
The club's P7 team were guests of Glasgow Warriors on Saturday during the home team’s huge European Cup match against French Top 14 team Lyon.
The lucky youngsters were treated to a meet and greet at the gates from Glasgow Warriors and Scotland Internationals Zander Fagerson and Alex Dunbar.
From there, the players then formed the guard of honour for both teams to enter the pitch. The fun didn’t stop there though, the Accies then took to the field at half-time and played a match of their own in front of raucous home crowd of nearly 8,000 Scotstoun spectators.
In atrocious conditions, they took on the West of Scotland Barbarians in a fast-paced encounter that saw the Ardrossan outfit emerge winners by a few tries. Stars of the day were Devlin Frew, Findlay Crawford and Harris McNicholl, who in the spirit of great sportsmanship joined in with the Barbarians, to ensure the two teams were evenly matched.
The youngsters made some unforgettable memories, which will hopefully inspire them to grace the same field as Warriors and Scotland Internationals in the future.
