PROUD Ardrossan Winton Rovers boss Stevie Wilson saluted his team’s firepower as they further boosted their hopes of promotion. They defeated Lugar Boswell Thistle 2-0 at home to strengthen their grip on second spot in McBookie League One. They are now four points ahead of second-placed Shotts Bon Accord and Port Glasgow are nine points adrift. The manager said: “We are the second highest goalscorers in the league (after Gartcairn) with 59 and our striker Jamie McKenna scored his 20th goal on Saturday. David Adams has 16 and is also doing well.” Wilson was pleased with the win but stresses there’s a long way to go. He said: “It was a very tough game as Lugar have a lot of Ayr United youngsters and are full of running. We must look to win at East Kilbride, but nothing has been achieved.”
