CLARK Drive Girls U17s went down 4-0 away to Hamilton Accies.

The game was pretty even from the start with Sophie Taggart making an excellent save in the first five minutes.

Caitlin Tomlinson then won the ball well in the midfield, before releasing Nicola Fisher on the left and she swept in a lovely pass for Kate Parker but the referee blew for offside just as Kate was about to pounce.

Hamilton took the lead in 24 minutes when, from a corner, the ball was played in and the striker headed home from close range. They doubled their lead six minutes from half time with a shot from just outside the box.

Two minutes after the break the visitors made it 3-0 with another well taken goal.Drive made two subs with Brogan Love coming on for Kate Ross and Caitlin Bradley coming on for the injured Nicola Fisher.

Lidia Carbonel then had a fine shot saved by the keeper on 57 minutes. Next it was Sophie in the Drive goals turn to produce a fine save minutes later.

Drive had a goal disallowed for offside shortly afterwards when Parker slotted the ball home after good work by the midfield. It was a bit harsh on the girls.

Hamilton made it 4-0 with eight minutes left when the corner came in Sophie made a great save but again the rebound fell to a home player and the shot was cleared off the line by Niree Gaw. However as the ball bounced around the box it was eventually turned into the net.

Drive played well and didn’t deserve to lose by the four-goal margin as the girls fought well against a more experienced Hamilton side.

CLARK Drive U13s turned in a fantastic performance against Prestwick rivals Caledonian FC.

They were on the front foot from the opening minutes and looked well up for the game.

Goalkeeper Megan started a few of the Irvine side’s attacks with her intelligent distribution and this set the tone for the full game. Their passing and movement was a delight to watch, especially in the second half.

Goalscorers in an convincing win were Jemma Bruce, Caitlin McMillan and Erin Kerr, who doubled her annual total. Olivia Wearing, Isla Easton. Mhairi Connelly and Morgan Wilkie all netted.

Bobo replaced Megan in the second half and kept a clean sheet. producing some timely stops.

Holly Niven had her usual tidy performance and with more game time, she will come on leaps and bounds. Credit to Caledonian who pinned Drive back for 10 minutes in the first half. scoring a couple of cracking goals.

Again the game was handled well by Tom Coulter.

The girls are off to Aberdeen on Saturday for a Scottish Cup tie and the players are looking forward to the game.
