CAYFA League Championship

KSC KILWINNING RANGERS U13s 5

CROSSHOUSE BC 2005s 2

BUFFS U13s are are celebrating a glorious treble after they saw off Crosshouse to land the league.

Kilwinning Rangers needed only a point to clinch the league title they would add to the two domestic Ayrsire Cup Competitions they had already won going into this encounter.

The opening 10 minutes were largely dominated by the visitors from Crosshouse with Buffs looking nervous. After a few strong words from the gaffer Charlie Brown, the Buffs upped their game with winger Stewart McAlpine, felled in the box and the Buffs penalty king, Scott Allison converting his 14th spot-kick of the season. Stewart McAlpine put the Buffs 2-0 up five minutes later, nipping in ahead of the Crosshouse keeper to fire home.

Crosshouse then pulled a goal back.

The second half kicked off with Buffs dominating. Stewart McAlpine was chopped down again for the Buffs second penalty of the game, Scott Allison, again, making no mistake with his 15th successful penalty conversion.

In 50 minutes, Gary Brown put the Buffs 4-1 up, netting the rebound from a fierce Scott Allison free-kick.

Eight minutes later, skipper Jack McMahon put the Buffs 5-1 up with a long range effort, the Crosshouse keeper fumbled. Crosshouse grabbed a late consolation goal however it was too little, too late. The young Buffs team held on to win their league by six points. This completed a hat-trick, following successes in the U13 CAYFA League Cup and U13 CAYFA Brian Davies Cup.
