FOCUSED Ardrossan Winton Rovers manager Chris Strain Snr is looking to bring in three new faces as he aims to help the team push up the table

Winton hope to be back in action for the first time in five weeks as they head to Ladywell Stadium to face basement team Maybole in a Super First Division clash on Saturday.

They last played on January 23 when they lost 4-1 at home to Yoker Athletic and that was only their second game of the year following the 1-0 win against Bellshill Athletic on January 3.

Midfielder Bobby Colligan is on the transfer list and Strain wants to shore up the squad as his side, who are fourth bottom, still have 18 games remaining and a backlog of fixtures.

He said: "We have quite a small pool and it's important to freshen up the squad. we want to bring three players to cover all areas. Bobby Colligan is up for sale as he has been unable to secure a regular starting place."

The boss is desperate to get back into action and added:"A lot of games have been off but we are worse than some teams because the grounds we have been due to play at have been affected by snow. We are desperate to get back playing again but our aim is to get a couple of wins and move up the table. It's a tough league with four teams being relegated."

Strain is expecting a tough test at Maybole and continued: "I saw them beat Largs a few weeks ago and they played very well. But we are looking to win the game."

Meanwhile Kilbirnie Ladeside manager Stephen Swift is hoping his side continue their fine run of form as Troon head to Valefield Park for a Super Premier Division game. Ladeside are unbeaten in their last four league games.

He is expecting a tough test and said: "We beat Troon 1-0 away in September and they are a good side. But we are a home and are aiming to win. Defensively we have been strong and Mark Staunton, Ryan Haxton and Ciaran Donnelly have been playing well and our goalie Kieran Hughes has been in great form."

Beith are aiming to seal a quarter-final berth in a major competition for the second week running.

They host Kilsyth Rangers in the West of Scotland Cup - a week after seeing off Petershill in the Scottish Junior Cup.

Boss Johnny Millar said: "The cup competitions are important to su and hopefully we can progress at home."
