DALRY THISTLE 0

LUGAR BOSWELL THISTLE 3

TEN man Dalry crashed to Lugar after conceding three first half goals.

FOR the first half hour, Dalry were on top, and should probably have been a couple of goals in front.

The best chance came from Mark Archdeacon, whose shot hit the crossbar.

The turning point came on 29 minutes when Lugar were awarded a penalty and Dalry were reduced to 10 men.

It was a debatable award as it looked like McLuckie had got the ball before the man went over his leg, with the sending off very harsh. However, Lugar duly scored from the spot.

Dalry suffered a blow when Archdeacon went off injured in 35 minutes, with Hood coming on. Just a minute later that they conceded another goal when a poor defensive header fell kindly and the ball was fired low into the net.

In 42 minutes it was 3-0 when a quick break from Lugar had Dalry claiming strongly for offside before a shot from the edge of the box went past Brian Hewitt.

The second half which was played like a training game with little in the way of action.

The only points of note came when Lugar were awarded two very soft penalties in 67 and 80 minutes, with both efforts brilliantly saved by Hewitt.

Dalry coped well in the second half with Butler more dominant in defence.
