SHAMEFUL scenes which marred the end of Kilbirnie Ladeside's ETHX Energy Scottish Junior Cup quarter-final clash with Pollok are being investigated by Junior Football beaks.

Crowd trouble broke out after the Glasgow side scored a disputed late penalty through David Winters which sealed a 1-0 victory.

A small group of visiting fans were stunned by the controversial decision. And a shower of coins are understood to have rained down on home boss Tony McInally with minor scuffles believed to have broken out between rival fans and the restart to the game delayed. Order was then restored for seven minutes of injury-time.

SJFA secretary Tom Johnston said: "I can confirm that we have written to both clubs looking for their observations. If what is stated in the referee's report tis correct there could be sanctions against either club or both clubs."

Ladeside secretary Gordon Ronney was unavailable for comment.

Meanwhile Ardrossan Winton Rovers striker John Bradford was disappointed with his team's "poor" display against Largs Thistle with the 3=0 defeat leaving them in third bottom spot.

Now he says survival is the main aim for the Ardrossan side who head to Lanarkshire to face Shotts Bon Accord on Saturday.

Bradford believe his side can do better and said: "We have a small squad and were stretched. Gareth Turner and Ryan Caddis were ill but still played and Darren Miller was on holiday but I don't want to make excuses.

!!We played very well against Kilwinning the week before and deserved to take a point. But it was a poor performance and that is unacceptable. It's a tough league but survival has to be the priority. We must look to win at Shotts on Saturday and pick up some more victories."
