KELLO ROVERS 6

ARDROSSAN WINTON ROVERS 1

OFF-form Winton slumped to their heaviest defeat of the season as they were hit for six in Kirkconnel.

It was the third straight loss for the leaders.

With Larry McMahon suspended the experienced Andy Monaghan came in as a trialist up front.

For the second game in a row Winton conceded an early goal when the lively Greg Miller got past Tam Jamieson and cut into the box before squeezing a shot between John Mullen and the near post in just two minutes.

At this stage Kello were doing most of the pressing but in 13 minutes Ryan Caddis won the ball and got into the box then played the ball to Ross Kearns but his effort was turned round the post by Ryan Dunsmuir.

Winton equalised in 17 minutes when Steven Tan played the ball out to Caddis who got to the line and swung over a cross to the back post where Michael Lennox headed the ball home for his first goal for the club. A minute later Dunsmuir made a point blank save from Andy Monaghan then on 19 minutes Bobby Colligan got on the end of a long ball into the box from Regan Ross but his shot hit the top of the bar.

They were however given a warning when the dangerous Miller played a good ball into the box to Liam Fleming but he was unable to control the ball and it bounced off his shin and out in 21 minutes.

It was end-to-end stuff and in 25 minute Mullen made a comfortable save from a long range Ramage free-kick.

It was 2-1 on the half hour when a tussle between Tam Jamieson and Miller as he ran into the box on the left saw the striker go down and the referee awarded a penalty which was converted by Ramage. Two minutes later it was 3-1 when the ball was played into the right side of the Winton half and although Fleming was offside Robert Hampson ran past him on to the loose ball and then played a dangerous low cross towards the penalty area and Marc Davidson, sliding in to clear only succeeded in bulleting the ball into his own net in 32 minutes.

Winton weren’t out of it and there were chances for Ryan Caddis and Bobby Colligan in 35 and 36 minutes before Ross Kearns saw his shot hit the bar following Caddis free-kick in 42 minutes. They then paid for not taking their chances when they lost the ball on the left wing to Miller who played the ball into the box to Kieran Pagan who made no mistake from 15 yards

Winton started the second half well with Bobby Colligan shooting straight at Dunsmuir in 49 minutes then a Regan Ross cross had to be headed out for a corner and there were another couple of chances before Colligan got in a good cross on 57 minutes but there was no one able to get on the end of it.

In 62 minutes Mullen came out to the edge of his box to clear the ball and was caught by Fleming who was booked for the foul. The Winton keeper needed treatment and was limping for a while after but he eventually shook it off. Ross Kearns brought out another good save from Dunsmuir in 64 minutes.

A Ryan Caddis shot deflected for a corner in 71 minutes.

Three minutes later poor defending saw substitute Jack Anderson shrug off weak tackles from two defenders on the edge of the box got into the box and shot home.

It was 6-1 in 79 minutes when Declan Hill was unmarked in the box and fired home.
