KELLO ROVERS 6

SALTCOATS VICTORIA 2

AFTER the previous weekend's emphatic win over league leaders Ardrossan, Kello hit six goals for the second week running against Winton's near neighbours Saltcoats.

The pitch was very heavy but was monitored from 8am and declared playable at 10.45am.

It didn’t take long for Kello to take off from where they left off and in only 10 minutes Hill, who is currently in a rich vein of form, glided in from the left and fired low under the diving Kirkland. Shortly after this Bennie’s touch was just too quick for a lunging visiting defender and this resulted in a penalty for Kello. Ramage scored from the spot.

Midway through the half Kello played a short corner and the resultant cross caused havoc in the Saltcoats’ defence and Cairns drove into the net from close range.

Goal number four saw Ramage drift into the visitors’ box and feign to go left and right, leaving two defenders on the ground. Ramage then paused the ball on the goal-line before pushing it over the line.

Goal number five came when Anderson drove a hard, low ball across the goalmouth al a Aleksandar Kolarov and Miller connected to drive it into the net.

Shortly after this Saltcoats did score when Chris McInnes hit a 20-yard shot in at the bottom of the post.

Trailing heavily at half time Saltcoats sent a deputation to see the referee to claim that the pitch was not playable. However the hosts insisted it was fine.

After only six minutes of the second half Michael Hart pulled another goal back for Saltcoats after some really sloppy Kello play at the back borne out of complacency.

Gradually, however regained control of and when a corner-kick was swung in Kirkland did well to punch the ball out but it only went as far as Miller who was lurking on the edge of the box. Miller expertly controlled the ball on his right knee before striking it on the half volley into the top right hand corner.
