There was a blow for Winton when Bobby Colligan was injured and unable to continue and he was replaced by David McNeil in 52 minutes. However with probably his first touch, the striker equalised in 54 minutes. Following a Regan Ross free-kick which was headed on by Ryan Caddis into the box he fired home the loose ball for his ninth goal of the season.

Rob Roy then the next 20 minutes saw John Mullen make vital saves from Duff, Watt and Gallagher as the home defence held out.

Rob Roy came closest in 75 minutes when Mullen came out of his box to head the ball clear but the ball went straight to Gallagher. The winger tried to lob the ball into the empty goal but luckily he ball went over the bar.

With five minutes remaining, Watt saw his shot deflected for a corner but the last action of the 90 minutes saw Steven Tan go on a good run at the defence before playing the ball to Harry Donaldson but the far side linesman gave offside. In time added on Winton brought on Dylan Caddis for Harry Donaldson as the tie went to penalty kicks.

In the shootout McKinven saved Regan Ross’s penalty then John Mullen held Kevin Green’s effort. Steven Tan, Michael Lennox, Davidson and Ryan Caddis for Winton and Duff, Gallagher, Watt and Pearson for Rob Roy all scored their penalties to make it 4-4 after five attempts each. McMenamin gave John Mullen no chance with the final spot kick to win the shootout.
