PROLIFIC striker Thomas Collins is hoping to blast Beith to title glory after scoring a lucky 13th goal of the season for The Mighty on Saturday.

Former Queens Park ace Collins was on target in the 4-1 Premier Division win away to local rivals Arthurlie, which got them back on track after a run of three successive draws.

It was their first game in a month following three successive postponements.

Collins (23) has returned to Bellsdale Park after enjoying a one-game loan spell with Ardossan Winton Rovers, for whom h played just one game but was recalled owing to injury problems at Beith.

The striker, on target in the penalty shootout in last season's Scottish Junior Cup final win against Pollok, was impressed with his team's display and said: "We played well considering we missed three weeks and had drawn our last three matches. It was good to score but it was also great to see the goals spread around the team.

"My aim is to help the team the title and I am hopeful we can do that, We still have to play the title contenders Auchinleck Talbot, Glenafton Athletic and Kirkintilloch Rob Roy at home. Hopefully I can score some more goals. We must look to beat Pollok away on Saturday although know it will be a difficult match.

"I enjoyed helping out at Winton and I wish them well for the rest of the season, but it's great to be back at Beith."

Manager Johnny Millar was heartened with his team's display and said: "It's always good to beat your old club and we dominated the game and deserved to win. We have drawn too many games but hopefully can keep winning. We expect a difficult game at Pollok on Saturday but we are going there to win.

"The good thing is that six of our last nine games are at home so we must try and make the most of that."

Beith are likely to be without skipper John Sheridan (hamstring) and Kenny McLean (knee) but everyone else is expected to be fit for the trip to Newlandsfield Park.
