BEATEN Scottish Junior Cup quarter-finalists Beith are aiming to put the disappointment behind them.
The Bellsdale Park side suffered a shock 4-1 home defeat in a tie at home to Lochee United.
Boss Johnny Millar had no qualms about the defeat and said: "We scored an early goal but then we lost one right away. The best team won, there are no excuses and we just never turned up. It's disappointing. Two or three times this year there has been one goal in it but that's the first time we have just not been in it. I couldn't see us coming back even at 2-1 or 3-1 down. We were not at the races and the best team won. Now we just have to re-group, that's all we can do."
Striker Kenny McLean, who came off the bench, added: "For the first 15 minutes we looked really good. Then we lost our shape and they scored and that killed us. In the second half we just didn't play and didn't deserve anything from the game. It was an off day. There were one or two decent performances from us but two players don't win you a game.
"We are near the top of the league and will be a bit closer to Kilwinning Rangers if we win our games in hand."
Kilbirnie Ladeside boss Budgie McGhie feels his team should have beaten Cumnock after drawing 1-1 at home to the Townhead Park side.
He said: "We didn't have many chances but created openings which we should have taken advantage of. It was disappointing not to win but Cumnock have improved. We must look to beat Arthurlie on Saturday."
