DALRY THISTLE 0

DARVEL 2

THIS was a good competitive game between two evenly matched sides.

Both sides pressed early, Darvel winning a corner which came to nothing and the Dalry played a free-kick into the box, but Lewis Kirkwood was guilty of a push.

Mark Archdeacon was the supplier for Ian Cashmore to have a shot, which was deflected for a corner. Jordan Stuart had a chance when the ball was only cleared to him at the edge of the box, but his volley went just over.

Midway through the half Armour made progress down the right and his cross to McCreadie saw a shot and a good save from Blair Lochhead.

Fitzharris then had a shot which went over.

Darvel were having a good spell, and K Lochhead was forced into giving away a corner, which came to nothing.

On 40 minutes a corner to Dalry fell to Stuart whose shot came off the outside of the post. Darvel responded with a corner which saw a Boyd shot go well over.

It then took a great double save from Lochhead to keep Darvel out.

Dalry had to take off Kyle Lochhead at half-time with an injury, bringing on Jamie Anderson

The second half opened with Stuart trying a cheeky shot from his own half, but it went wide. Darvel had a chance when a 30 yard shot from Waite was too high.

A whipped free-kick from Dalry across the face of the goal was asking for a touch, but it went through everybody.

Dalry were dealt another blow on 58 minutes when Chris McGowan who had taken a knee to the ribs had to go off with Burns coming on.

The opening goal came in 73 minutes when from a corner, the ball was turned in through a crowded box by Davidson.

Eight minutes later, Reid Brown was given a second yellow for an alleged push from the back and Dalry were down to 10 men.

However Dalry had a chance when a Kirkwood shot went inches wide.

Darvel settled matters in 85 minutes when a shot came back off the post and was turned in by Fitzharris to make it 2-0.

Morrison had a chance when a shot from 25 yards had the keeper scrambling and then a Burns shot was cleared off the line straight into the goalie's arms.
