CLYDEBANK 1

KILBIRNIE LADESIDE 0

LADESIDE's faint title hopes are all but gone following this defeat away to rejuvenated Bankies.

The hosts never really got started against a Clydebank side who played three quarters of the game with 10 men.

In a poor first half with very few highlights it was Kilbirnie who had the first chance when a ball into the box found Reece Williamson 14 yards out, but his shot was struck straight at home goalie Waters.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men in 24 minutes when Higgins was booked for dissent and then shown a straight red card for spitting towards the referee.

Clydebank rallied from this and six minutes later a Deas free-kick from 30 yards took a deflection and almost caught out Kieran Hughes, but the ball went narrowly past his left hand post.

Jon Scullion saw an effort from distance fly way over the bar before Williamson had a great chance to put the visitors in front when a Sweeney throw in was headed on by Reon Juskowiack but Williamson fired his effort wide of the target from 13 yards. The last chance of the half fell to the home side when a ball into the box was only partially cleared and when it came back into the box it fell to McClair, but his effort was easily saved by Kieran Hughes.

At the start of the second half a deep cross by Scullion found David Crerand, who knocked the ball back across goal but Williamson steered his header just wide.

It was the home side who took the lead on the hour when the referee pointed to the spot after Forsyth went down rather easily in the box. Deas fired the resultant spot kick low into the bottom right corner, sending Hughes the wrong way.

Killbirnie were given a chance to get back into it when a Cory Hughes cross came off the hand of Darroch inside the box and the referee pointed for a penalty. Scullion side-footed the spot kick low to Waters' left hand side but the keeper got down well to save.

Deep into stoppage time Kilbirnie had another chance to level when a long throw into the box fell to McLaren but he miskicked before the ball then fell to Williamson but he also sliced his effort well wide.

Kilbirnie: K Hughes; Roberts, Juskowiak, McLaren, O'Byrne, C Hughes, McGill, Sweeney, Crerand, Scullion, Williamson. Subs: Finlay, Burbridge, Mitchell, Tuohy, Wilton.

KILBIRNIE LADESIDE 1

GLENAFTON ATHLETIC 1

LADESIDE on Wednesday failed to convert their chances as they were held by 10-man Glenafton who were a man down for almost half an hour.

After dominating most of the possession Ladeside took the lead in 27 minutes. A cross ball into the middle of the box found Reece Williamson and although his shot was blocked the ball fell to Kurtis Roberts coming in from the right to smash a shot low into the far corner.

In 40 minutes a McGill corner found the head of Mick O'Byrne but he nodded just wide.

Then in 59 minutes Glens were awarded a penalty when Lynass went down in the box. Dallas slotted the resultant kick into the left hand corner.

Glens were then reduced to 10 men when McKernon was booked for a blatant dive but continued his protest with the referee who then showed him a red card.
