HIGHLY-rated KILWINNING RANGERS striker Ben Lewis is attracting interest from Senior Football teams after another excellent season at Abbey Park.
The targetman, who was a one-time target of Kilmarnock won the Players’ Player of the Year and Top Scorer award at the Buffs’ Player of the Year awards evening in Kilwinning Bowling Club on Friday. Strikeforce partner Bryan Boylan won the Match Programme Player of the Year award, kindly sponsored by Ronnie Malone and Website and Supporters’ Player of the Year. Defender Isaac Kerr won the Committee Player of the Year award. Boylan and Kerr are definitely on board for next season.
Chairman Danny Watt said: “Ben is under contract but attracting interest from a few senior clubs. We would not stand in his way if he wanted to move on, he is a quality player, Buffs hope to add up to five new faces to their squad for the coming season when they will hope to clinch a return to the Super League.
Off-the-field the club are spending around £3,000 on improving the playing surface which verti-drains being installed. And local businessman Alan Poole has taken over as club secretary.
