THE latest round of the Fullarton Wheelers Cycling Club summer league took place earlier this month.

Starting from Eglinton Park, the route took riders down the A78 to the Monkton roundabout and back.

This is a well tested time trial route used by the club Just as has been the case with so many the summer league events this year, the weather was unkind with a strong cold wind which followed the early evening rain causing problems for the cyclists.

In the end it was very close between three of the top riders in the club.

Gordon Stead maintained his position at the top of the leaderboard with first place, followed closely by Jim Ryland and Gordon Graham.

Aileen Clyde was the first woman back.

All-in-all it was a very competitive event in hard conditions. With the league past the half way stage, Stead looks hot favourite to win back the trophy he lost to Darren Kean last year.
