ARDROSSAN travelled to McKane Park on Saturday for the third attempt at playing this league fixture against relegatio- threatened Dunfermline.

It was a grey overcast day and that description could describe the rugby also, the pitch though undulating was in good condition despite the recent flooding and it was dry.

Accies kicked off through captain Allan Wilson and the early exchanges were even although from the outset the visitors dominated the line out through Lamont and McFarlane with Innes Frazer throwing in for the first time this season proving accurate which was to continue through the game. Both sets of forwards were picking and driving to good effect with Blair and Henry prominent for Accies.

Each side had penalties which were kicked for position and the first threat at the line was after Hunter in returned an opposition high kick with his own and followed it up to make the tackle but Accies were penalised for offside and the pressure was relieved.
