ACCIES travelled to Musselburgh for their secpnd away game in a row.

The preparations were not ideal, with Callum Wilson withdrawing on the morning of the match, and Robert Hunter pulling up with a hamstring injury during the warm up.

No kit was a bit of a challenge as well.

In very hot conditions Ardrossan got of to the best possible start with a try under the posts by Jason Dagledenis after some excellent interplay between backs and forwards to us from our own 22 to over their try line.

This proved to be a false dawn, and Musselburgh immediately responde with a try up the left win to make it 7-5 after 15 minutes. This set the tone for the rest of the half with the home side running in three further tries to make the half-time score 24-7.

Accies started the second half without influential play maker Allan Wilson who was injured in a kick and chase over the Musselburgh line just before the interval. He was replaced by lock Michael McFarlane with Scott Campbell moving to the wing and Andy Duncan moving to 10.

Musselburgh capitalised on the make shift back line to score 2 converted tries in opening salvo to the 2nd half. With further injuries to Stewart Lewis, Stewart Lamont and Gordon Telfer, the possibility of a big deficit looked pretty ominous for the visitors.

However, the 15 players remaining on the pitch responded and produced their best period of play in the last 20 minutes and were very unlucky not to score despite creating two or three excellent opportunities.

Accies will be disappointed with the result, however they will pleased with they way they responded in the face of adversity and in very hot and humid conditions.

The injury and unavailable list is now a serious concern for the squad and the visit of Falkirk to the Memorial Field will hold another daunting challenge ARDROSSAN ACCIES: B Hunter; S Lewis, A Duncan, N Welsh, C McKechnie, A Wilson, J Dagledenis, D Woods, K Blair (captain); I Frazer, M.Hood, E Thompson, S Lamont, S Campbell, G Telfer.
