LASSWADE 12

ARDROSSAN ACCIES 21

RESILIENT Accies bounced back from their humbling against Falkirk to easily defeat the hosts.

The visitors made changes for this fixture, with Matt Hood in the front row for Innes Frazer (suspension) and Serbian players Milan Marinkovic and Istok Totic still on International duty.

In cold windy conditions the hosts kicked off the match, Sam Dagar caught the ball and drove forward to set up the ruck , Lasswade were penalised for offside and Jack Anderson put three points on the scoreboard for Accies after two minutes of play,

Anderson added another penalty in 12 minutes after a Lasswade player was penalised for not releasing when tackled by Vikas Khatri.

In 15 minutes, Accies had the home side on the back foot as they moved the ball quickly through the hands and changing the point of attack.

The home side was reduced to 14 players after their right wing Andrew Hall was sent to the sin bin.

Accies;' pressure was eventually rewarded in 25 minutes when Andy Duncan intercepted an attempted floating pass and sprinted in from 30 metres to score under the posts. Jack Anderson converted to put the visitors on 13 points.

An ankle injury to Vikas Khatri forced him to leave the field to be replaced by Jamie McKee.

Lasswade scored in 36 minutes. The ball was won against the head in a five=metre scrum and Ciaran Lamont finished off the move by touching down in the corner. The conversion was missed.

With two minutes until half-time, Accies made another change with Cameron Armour making his debut appearance in the front row.

Accies started the second period , Gordon Telfer caught the Lasswade return kick and charged upfield to set up a ruck, the play was transferred to the right and Accies attacked upfield.

A Lasswade player was penalised for not rolling away in the tackle and Jack Anderson duly kicked another three points for the visitors with barely two minutes played.

Jason Dagledenis and Scott Campbell came off the substitutes bench for the visitors.

Accies increased their lead further after captain Stewart Lamont finished off a driving maul by scoring in the right corner, the conversion was missed but Accies were now on 21 points

They were unfortunate not to score again in 65 minutes. From another attacking lineout a catch and drive by the pack drove the ball over but the referee was undecided . An injury to Martin Hood in the move forced him to be replaced.

On the half hour after a series of pick-up and drives, Gordon Telfer went in for a try but again the referee decided that ball was nudged forward in the process of touching down.

In the final move of the match Lasswade scored their second try as outside centre David Hall finished off a good handling move involving both forwards and backs. The conversion was good.

This was a much better performance from the previous week from Accies who now sit in mid-table in the league .

They played well and could have scored more but their achilles heel of taking their foot off the gas when in front is still evident.

Still, with this weekend's fixture against Biggar at home and the return of their Serbian Internationalists , they should be confident.
