BIGGAR 17

THE look of despondency on the faces of the home coaching staff said it all at the end of this match.

For the second time in a home fixture, Accies lost a match in injury time through a lack of rugby guile.

Accies' teamsheet showed the return of Calum McKechnie on the wing, Jamie McKee back at centre and a first start for Cameron Armour at tight head prop.

In crisp conditions Biggar kicked off the match , the home side launched an attacking move through Ben Hamilton and Mick McFarlane who drove up the middle, the ball was spun out for Andy Duncan to carry into the visitors 22 where Accies were awarded a penalty . Jack Anderson duly kicked the three points to put the home side in front after two minutes.

Accies were still falling foul of the referee particularly at the breakdown allowing Francois Nel to kick long for attacking lineout's.

Nel added another penalty on the hour after Accies were penalised for not releasing in the tackle.

The home side were denied another try in 70 minutes after a mix -up in the visitors defence allowed an Accies drive to the corner , the ball came back and Jason Dagledenis went in from five metres but the referee disallowed the score for " crossing".
