THIS was a high-scoring match which produced both a try fest and 81 points.

For those home supporters prone to hypertension, the Memorial Field would be best avoided, as unpredictable Accies served up another rollercoaster performance before snatching victory in the final minutes.

In perfect conditions Allan Wilson kicked off. A Kirkcaldy catch and drive took play back to the halfway line before they were penalised for not releasing in the tackle and Jack Anderson kicked to touch to give Accies an attacking lineout 15 metres from the try line. Gordon Telfer drove close for the home side. From the ruck Jason Dagledenis continued the drive before the ball was moved quickly through the hands for Bruce Hunter to touch down for the first score. The conversion was missed but Accies were now 5-0 ahead after six minutes.

Accies increased their lead four minutes later after Telfer broke up the middle to set up a ruck, the ball was transferred to Wilson who chipped over the advancing defence allowing Robert Hunter to gather and cross the line in the right hand corner. The conversion was missed but the home side were now on 10 points.

Accies so far had enjoyed the majority of possession and territory and further increased their lead afterWilson found space in the visitors defence to touch down at the posts .Jack Anderson converted to put his side on 17 points after half an hour.

The hosts extended their lead five minutes later - from an attacking lineout a fine catch by Stewart Lamont and a driving maul by the pack resulted in Euan Thomson scoring the fourth and bonus point score and again Anderson kicked the conversion.

In the last move of the half, Kirkcaldy scored their second try - from a lineout 10 metres from the home line their big pack produced a muscular drive and Danny Jennings got the touchdown and Owen Bonner kicked a difficult conversion to put his side on 14 points.

They again replicated their last score after Rory Brown touched down at the back of the driving maul. The conversion was missed.

The visitors scored their fourth and bonus point try after another Sanft kick was spilled and the ball was transferred wide to Dayle Turner who powered over .The conversion was good to put the Fifers in the lead for the first time.

Dayle Turner scored his second try on the hour minute after he intercepted an attempted Accies inside pass 15 metres from his own line then sprinted upfield to score. The conversion was good.

With successive waves of attacks the visitors moved further ahead. Another Sanft howitzer kick was spilled, the ball moved wide and Kurt Littlejohn finished off the move. The conversion was missed.

Re-energised Accies were making a spirited response. A lineout steal by Lamont released Jason Dalgedenis to drive through the first line of defenders and the ball was passed to Andy Duncan who used his pace and power to burst through three attempted tackles and go in for the score.
