MEMBERS, past members and guests recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Dalry and District Scottish Women’s Rural Institute.
There was a dinner held at the Seamill Hydro with current and founder members as well as special guests attending.
Entertainment was provided by Margaret Nisbet and Eleanor Dunlop, with assistance from some other members.
Guest at the top table included SWRI National Chairman, Christine Hutton, who presented loyalty certificates to the following founder members: Margaret Angus, Nan Chalmers, Margaret Comrie, Jean Gilbert, Mary Gillan, Elise Glen, Agnes Lamont, Elizabeth Orr, Jean Parker and Jessie Templeton. Unfortunately, Jane Chalmers was unable to attend due to illness.
Thanks from the WRI go to everyone who contributed to the event, particularly North Ayrshire Council, whose grant ensured a successful evening.
