A NEW wind farm near Kilwinning is being proposed.
Global engineering company Amec Foster Wheeler will apply to build four new turbines at Auld Clay 2.5km north west of the town.
The turbines will be up 100 metres high and will deliver up to 25GWh of hours of electricity per year – equivalent to the amount of electricity used annually by over 7,800 households.
The company says the project, which would be generating by autumn 2017, will deliver an annual community fund of circa £46,000. It is envisaged that the fund would be administered by a community trust with local community organisations and sport clubs being potential beneficiaries.
The company is hosting the following public exhibitions giving locals the opportunity to met the project team and find out more about the proposals.
Kilwinning Abbey Hall: Wednesday, March 11 from 2pm to 8pm, Ardeer Youth and Community Centre: Friday, March 13 from 2pm to 8pm, Dalry Library Monday, March 16 from 2pm to 7.30pm.
