A SALTCOATS man has been jailed after he stole more than £100 worth of goods from a local supermarket. Ian Phillip Murray, 29, of Glebe Place, admitted stealing £128 worth of meat and cheese, without recovery, from Iceland, The Braes, Saltcoats on December 1 last year. Ms Docherty, defending, said that her client had been sentenced to four months imprisonment back on March 17 and wanted a consecutive sentence to get out and start with a clean slate. Sheriff Young said: “It is not the most serious but it comes with a background.
“Due to the timing of the plea the sentence will be reduced from six months to four to be served consecutive.”
