THE sun shone brightly for the 2015 West Kilbride Gala Day – even though most of the youngsters there were ‘Frozen’.
The hit Disney film was the theme of this year’s fancy dress parade and local kids really got into the spirit of things with some inspired costumes.
The day-long event saw the crowning of the Gala Queen and King – Rebecca Muir and Liam Graham.
The first attendant was Kaitlynn Welsh and the other attendants were Shavonne Elliot, Jennifer Kelly and Caitlin Higgins. There were also three page boys, Blair Storrie, James Corney and Jack McConnachie and eight princesses, Lily Longwall, Payton Tiffoney, Madison McLaclan, Hayley Wilson, Lucie Wilson, Katie McCalmont, Emma McKinlay and Sophie Stewart Giles.
Thankfully, the gala avoided last year’s downpour as the parade left West Kilbride Train Station at 12pm.
It then made its way to Kirktonhall Glen where the fun really began, with all kinds of stalls and events to keep everyone happy, young and old.
