YOUNGSTERS in Kilwinning are proving that the early bird catches the worm.

Kids from Pennyburn Primary have been taking advantage of the Kilwinning Sports Club Breakfast Club since the new term started last week.

Pupils have been enjoying games and crafts whist getting their cereal before they head over to school before the bell rings.

The club is free and as well as providing a child care option for parents who need to be in work before school starts, it’s also providing a safe haven for children away from the elements.

The youngsters also get the chance to contribute to the sports club in their own way.

Last term, they joined forces to make the KSC Christmas display which greeted members as they came through the doors in December.

The daily KSC Breakfast Club is funded by BBC Children in Need and the Riverside Foundation has this week officially re-started for 2016.

The club provides a healthy breakfast for kids, followed by games and activities.

The children are then safely chaperoned to school by club staff.

All free of charge!

The breakfast club runs Monday to Fridays between 8am and 9am during school term time.

The breakfast club is free of charge thanks to funding from BBC Children in Need and Riverside Foundation.

Spaces are limited and booking is required.
